Ortovox Beast Classic
The Ortovox Beast is an aggressive hardened aluminium shovel designed to move snow quickly and efficiently. The blade has high side walls to hold snow and a robust centre ridge for excellent rigidity.
The edge is sharpened to allow you to cut through hard snow with non slip ridges for safety and ease when shovelling hard.
The T handle is suitable for left and right handers and the telescopic oval shaft has a rubber coating on the lower section for power.
Ortovox 240 Alu Probe
The Ortovox 240 Alu Probe is a simple but effective choice from the Ortovox range. This 240 cm probe comes with quick-lock assembly system and Aramid tensioning cord, to ensure it is as strong and efficient as possible.
Weighing only 200g, the probe comes with a specially-designed quick-lock tensioning system so that users can deploy it with maximum speed and efficiency.
All of the Ortovox Avalanche Probes are pack-friendly meaning you can stow your probe in almost any Ski Backpack, All Ortovox Ski Backpacks come with a dedicated compartment for avalanche safety tools.
Aramid is a heat-resistant fibre of incredible strength and durability, all of which it combines with a very lightweight.
The 11mm diameter and 43cm fold-away size ensure that the probe takes up as little space as possible when stowed.
All Ortovox Probes come with a probe sleeve.
Visual Guide System
The intuitive visual guide system provides you with quick and clear information about the victim‘s depth at all times. You can perfectly Adapt your shovelling strategy and save important time thanks to the clear 1m marker, Contrasting Depth Scale and Colourful End Segments. The bottommost segments in neon orange indicate when you are approaching the victim.
Material Properties
7075 Aluminium T6 - Light and stiff and thus the aluminium of choice for all aluminium probes. Ortovox uses different tube diameters between 11 and 13 mm- meaning: the thicker the diameter, the heavier and stiffer the probe.
