The Ortovox Carbon 240 Superlight Probe is Ortovox's lightest probe, perfect for users determined to save space and weight.
Advisor: Compare avalanche probes | ORTOVOX
The super-lightweight of this probe is achieved in part thanks to its carbon segments. As well as being much lighter than steel, Carbon also freezes much more slowly, thanks to its low thermal conductivity.
Another design feature that helps keep this probe so light is the Aramid tensioning system. Aramid is a specially crafted polymer, originally developed for the military, which combines exceptional strength and heat resistance with a very low weight.
If you travel as light as possible then we recommend combining this Carbon 240 Superlight probe with the Ortovox Diract Voice & Ortovox Pro Light Shovel.
The shorter segments (37.5cm) allows a more compact pack size, and the 10mm diameter ensures that this probe takes up the minimum space in any pack.
All of the Ortovox Avalanche Probes are pack-friendly meaning you can stow your probe in almost any Ski Backpack, All Ortovox Ski Backpacks come with a dedicated compartment for avalanche safety tools.
The intuitive visual guide system provides you with quick and clear information about the victim‘s depth at all times. You can perfectly Adapt your shovelling strategy and save important time thanks to the clear 1m marker, Contrasting Depth Scale and Colourful End Segments. The bottommost segments in neon orange indicate when you are approaching the victim.
