So you’re in the market for a new Avalanche Airbag but you’re unsure on what electric technology to go for, be that the Jetforce, Alpride E2 or the New Ortovox LiTRIC.
Snowsafe breaks down everything you need to know about the Ortovox AVABAG LiTRIC Airbag System and why you should choose this new technology:
The combination of Super Capacitors and a 25g Lightweight Lithium-Ion Battery that is designed to Resist the cold, allows reliable operation even at the most extreme temperatures β without a drop in performance.
The radial high-performance compressor with axial diffusor fills the airbag in Four Seconds.
A design that has been carefully considered right down to the last little detail: super-capacitors instead of cartridges and an ultra-lightweight airbag β at just approx. 1,080 grams, LiTRIC is one of the lightest airbag systems on the market.
The 150L-AIRBAG is made using a new, two-layer material that makes complicated folding unnecessary β it can be Simply Pushed back into the airbag pocket.
A LED display on the side of the backpack shows the systemβs battery charge and its readiness for operation including a self-test.
The electric system can be fully charged via USB-C in approx. 25 minutes and activation can be tested any number of times at no additional cost. The lack of a cartridge means more room, no weighing necessary, no cartridge disposal, and no travel limitations.
One charge enables at least two activations. The approx. 60h operation time when switched ON (30 days when switched OFF) allows for multi-day tours with no need for recharging. Its operating temperature ranges from -30 to +45Β°C.
Thanks to the NEW LOCKING SYSTEM, accidental opening of the airbag pocket is now a thing of the past β no matter how full the backpack is.
Instead of the fiddly process of threading it onto the waist strap, it is now attached to an extra loop using a carabiner.
Two modular airbag bases and one specialist, The Avabag LiTRIC series cover every area of use.
