Over the years market research has shown that there have been many avalanches where riders simply did not have any safety equipment at all, leading to fatal injuries & death. The main reason for this was due to the equipment being too expensive. That’s where Terrawest step in.

History of Terrawest and how it has evolved?

2013 – Foundation of Terrawest

Terrawest started in the year 2013 with a simple 3 piece shovel used for all outdoor activities and avalanche safety, where we provided this shovel to many mountain rescue teams in the UK and featured in a small snippet on the BBC one show. 

2015 – Expanding the brand 

In 2015 we expanded the brand into adding an aluminium and carbon probe to our product range. 

2019 – Recco Advanced Technology Partnership 

In 2019 Terrawest partnered with Recco Advanced Technology, where we integrated the Recco reflector onto the Terrawest Core 22 Litre Backpacks to add maximum safety when in the mountains whether your skiing off-piste or with your family and little ones.

As well as an intuitive backpack we also developed an updated hard-wearing lightweight avy shovel and aluminium avalanche probe. 

Mission Statement

Terrawests mission is to expand the backpack and avy tool range and move further into partnerships with intuitive brands and mountain rescue services, we are also keen to build relationships with more online retailers.
